Winter 2020 couldn’t have started off better. A fantastic trip to Selkirk Lodge, followed by ski touring in Japan, then off to Burnie Glacier Chalet (my favourite lodge) with two groups of South Tyrolians who worked my legs off. And then the finale at Valhalla Mountain Lodge where we enjoyed powder runs day after day blissfully unaware that there was a global pandemic meltdown going on. We got out on March 15 to a changed world.
It’s good to review these photos to remind me that 2020 hasn’t always been this way… .
A second week with another group of even more indomitable South Tyrolians. They worked me hard and we pounded in another 15000 m (50000 ft). Fortunately the last day of the trip was a short one due to weather and general fatigue in the group!
