Winter of 2019 was again an incredible season with trips ranging from mid-winter Selkirk Powder to powerful alpine ski mountaineering at Burnie Glacier. I finished the season in Svalbard again, exploring the fjords of Spitzbergen from the Rembrandt van Rijn and the s/v Noorderlicht.

In 2017 Mike said he'd found a ski lodge that still had availability: Mt. Carlyle Lodge. To be honest, I'd never heard of the place. Eventually I figured out that it was somewhere in the Kootenays and owned by Brian Cross and not too far from Valhalla Mountain Lodge. Well, I figured, it's worth a try and since Mike was willing to do all the legwork and fill the lodge with guests I was more than happy to join him. In a word: it was awesome!
